Whether you travel to Northrop or join us online for the 2022-23 Northrop Matinee Season, excellent music and dance experiences await your students!
Northrop proudly engages students in meaningful experiences that expand their worldview and provide the hope and joy the arts offer through its K-12 matinee program. The program provides students and educators high-quality and affordable arts programming with expanded access online and flexible on-demand options that fit school schedules. Each performance is augmented with additional study materials that meet learning standards, as well as resources to guide students about arts performances. Please note that all in-person student matinees will have reduced seating capacity to allow spacing between classes in the theater.
$3.50 tickets per student

Through our commitment to educate and share the joy of the arts with students in Minnesota and beyond, we offer low-cost tickets, bus reimbursements, and the flexibility of in-person and/or online viewing options.
We also believe in empowering students to think critically about their arts experiences. In collaboration with University of Minnesota faculty, Northrop aligns each student matinee performance with a lesson plan that meets the Minnesota English Language Arts standard—offering a range of activities and resources that can be used before, during, and after the performances.
Northrop is committed to providing an arts experience that is accessible for all. We are proud to partner with the Autism Society of Minnesota (AuSM) to create inclusive spaces and access for all in our community. This season, Northrop will offer sensory-friendly lounges, equipped with sensory supports and staffed by trained volunteers will be available to all guests who are seeking a safe and soothing atmosphere during this and other select performances.
