URBAN VENTURES | Come visit for a free field trip!
At the farm, students meet our flock of chickens, and plant, harvest and prepare vegetables from the garden to make a healthy snack. At the Innovation Center, students will explore tools that provide input to a device, building critical and creative tech skills.
Field trips are free and accommodate up to 70 students, which will split into 2 groups and take turns visiting our urban farm and our Innovation Center. A trip to only the farm or only the Innovation Center is possible as well, but could only accommodate 35 students.
Trips are 3 hours total, 1.5 hours at the farm and 1.5 hours at the Innovation Center. The farm visit includes harvesting vegetables, interacting with our flock of chickens, and preparing a healthy snack. The Innovation Center includes participating in a fun, student-led activity centered around hands-on manipulatives and an iPad. Students will explore tools that provide input to a device, building critical and creative tech skills.
School-year trips are only available in May, June, September and October due to weather at the farm. Summer groups are welcome, email Julia at juliaotten@urbanventures.org if you’re interested in scheduling something for summer.
