Visit Hoċokata Ti this winter, the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community’s cultural center and gathering space that also features a 3,850-square-foot public exhibit and a public gift shop.

PUBLIC EXHIBIT
Get your students out of the classroom this winter with a guided tour of Hoċokata Ti’s public exhibit, Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake, which provides visitors with an experience that will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Mdewakanton Dakota people and their history.
Whether guests prefer to explore the exhibit on their own or desire a group guided tour, Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake will provide guests with a traditional
Mdewakanton Dakota experience unlike any other.

Bring history to life and let one of our professional cultural interpreters guide your group through the exhibit as they provide insight into the meaning behind the displays and artifacts. Our immersive and interactive exhibit gives students a better understanding of Mdewakanton lifeways that can’t be experienced through books. Plan your visit by filling out our request form at hocokatati.org/group-field-trips.
